Application:
Due to the permanent magnetic clamping system, which is effective in de-energized condition, these holding magnets are used preferably there, where long holding times are necessary and no holding force is required only for a short time or occasionally. Furthermore applications are as safety magnet in transport equipment and lifting equipment, since a load is hold reliable at power failure. In order to reach the nominal holding force, the steel surfaces of the clamping surface are to be covered completely from the workpiece.
Execution:
The holding magnets consist of a permanent magnetic clamping system for holding ferrous magnetic workpieces and of an energizing coil, which, in the switched on condition, neutralizes the magnetic field at the clamping area and thus makes removal of the workpieces and/or release of loads possible.
Depending on the application the appropriate rules for the prevention of accidents are to be followed. The devices are built and examined according VDE 0580. This is considered as conformance certificate in accordance with CENELEC memorandum Nr.3, Part 3, Par.2.3 according to the new equipment safety law of the EEC.
Nom force: 24 V DC
Isolation class: E
Protection: Equipment IP 65 according DIN 40 050
Duty:
25% at operation time <2 min.
40% at operation time <0.5 min.
The relative duty is:
Rel. duty = (Duty / operation time) x 100%
When following the given values for duty, operation time and a nominal voltage of +5% or -10%, a reliable de-activation of the permanent magnetic system is realized. Herewith a safe release of the workpieces is guaranteed. The occurring rest-magnetism is then max. 3% of the nominal force. At full duty these holding magnets are not overloaded. However over-temperature of the coil will cause a higher magnetic remanence.
